He is much more valuable to a rebuilding team as a #3 center than to the Sharks as a faceoff specialist, which means he should be prime trade bait. I have a feeling that Cheechoo is going to have a good 2nd half, particularly if he gets time with better linemates. Prediction: 15 goals in the 2nd half. I like the punishment for all star no shows. Seems different than hiding injuries so other teams don't key in. This is for the fans, and that fans should get to see who they want. He's too big of an asset on faceoffs. If it's game 7 of the Stanley Cup final, Sharks are up by one goal with 10 seconds left in the third period and a faceoff is in our zone, it'll be Goc to win that faceoff and end the game. Just take a look at who took all final faceoffs in the last game against Detroit, and who also won them all. As for me, I think we'll see Cheechoo take his train elsewhere which will allow some space to add Mitchell and add another mid-tier defenseman with Cup winning experience.
