I posted on this over at the blog with my thoughts. Jeremy, we were on the same wavelength because I brought up Green's SHTOI as well.

I'm glad for the discussion. The only thing to point out about Green is that he, too, is his coach's 6th choice for SH time. And I think in both Streit's and Green's case it's the coach preserving their player. Streit is already 8th in TOI/game (excluding a couple players with very few games played), so making him the 3rd or 2nd choice might push his TOI to 29 or 30 minutes a game. And that's probably a rate that cannot be handled. My main point remains - Streit's achievements this year will probably go overlooked because of the team he's on. But where would the Isle be without him?

But this is a Sharks page, so maybe the next award to discuss can be the Vezina. In a year where his stats are off, does the win total alone push Nabakov into the mix?

Great point Jeremy.

I used NHL.com for the stats and according to that, Streit is 6th in average SH ice time on the Islanders with 2:34/per game. While Boyle only averages 2:06 SH ice time, to be fair the Sharks take less penalties and he is 3rd in avg. on the team, so he plays a regular SH shift, while Streit is Coach Gordon's 6th choice.

As for Green, true his SH time is on par with Streit, but I would take Green every day over Streit, so he gets the nod.

I didn't advocate for Rafalski.....so I'll let Mike take that one.

GO SHARKS.

Doug, I don't know where you pulled the stats about Streit's SH time, but the site I use puts him better than Rafalski (by far), and on par with Boyle and Green. To be fair, Chara and Lidstrom outpace all these guys by a wide margin. So I still contend that the Norris should be his.

Great interview with EJ. But seriously guys, where do you go from here? A player perhaps....

I think I spelt it wrong the second time. Is spelt even a word? I'll stop typing now ... Can't wait to hear the next episode! Good on ya mate!
