It’s a little easier for Pittsburgh fans to have that attitude when they won a Cup 10 months ago.

I wish the US won that game, but I sure as heck was rooting for Marleau to score when he had that 2-on-1 in OT.

Ryan Miller got a standing ovation in Pittsburgh and they boo’d Crosby’s gold medal goal when they showed the replay. I hate the red wings too but he does have a point.

I didn’t want our boys to get hurt but I would have loved to see them lose that game. I would have rather seen JT or Patty score than Crosby though of course too. Oh well I hope “the pros” get to play in the 2014 Olympics.

I do understand. It kills me, but I do. I will be proudly wearing my Team USA jersey at the game tonight and hope to run into you, Doug. Maybe you’ll buy me a Molson? I know I said I was done and it’s lame of me to go against that, but I kept forgetting to make this point (one that I was reminded of last night by a *ahem* Sharks’ fan): if their gold medals guaranteed the Sharks a deep playoff run, then it would be different. You and I both know it doesn’t though. OK, I stick by what I said and I respectfully disagree. Now I’m really done with it.

While most of you hate the Wings (which is also understandable), the feeling is not mutual – most of the time. I’m born and raised here and I would be happy for this town if it got a Stanley Cup. If you’re wondering, my old man is from Detroit and we visited there a lot as kids. I was a Wings fan well before the Sharks existed and then went away to college after their first year. And then that thing happened in 1994…..

I stood up and cheered when USA tied the game with just seconds left on the clock. There are witnesses, some that can talk and then there’s my cat – who never lies but unfortunately he hates Detroit and will refuse to speak to you.

Under that furry beard and Motor City mouth, I know there’s a wisp of understanding WingsFan. Like it or not, while I love the Black Angus Steakhouse and Danica Patrick as much as the next American male, when the USA lost the Gold Medal, it hurt about 5% as much as the Sharks losing last year to the Ducks. No doubt.

i’d love to kick your dog… jk….I am a total dog lover….but, to be brutally honest, there is little more in the world that I hate more than Wings fans and Duck fans… Don’t take it totally personally. You seem rational and level headed but I don’t take your fan base lightly.

the Sharks are becoming the butt of the NHL. And Ducks and Wings fans are THE FIRST to remind us of that. So, I get kinda irritated when a wings fan come here and tries to tell us what our priorites should be.

Again you are welcome here and I generally enjoy your comments but I think you are off base a little on this one…

Evilducks is right though. There are a lot of teams that haven’t won a championship in more than 20 years. 30 or so teams in each sport, one championship per year….. you get the point. And then you have a city like Cleveland that hasn’t won squat in like 50 years. That all being said, there is some validity to your point that it is not the same for me as it is for all of you. I’d be a fool not to admit that.

Your argument is akin to domestic violence. Like Chris Rock once said, “I don’t agree with it, but I understand.”

OK, I’ve said my peace. I’ll move on and will only berate Doug about it in private (minus a few jabs here and there when appropriate).

Hopefully the Sharks will win a Cup between now and the next Olympics so that I don’t have to go through this again.

That play was garbage, it was a huge cheep shot and to go sit on the bench and smile and practically high five your teammates while a guy is layed out on the ice after a cheep shot like that makes me wish we’d see them at least one more time this year. Sure we hit them in the best way possible by winning the game but still would have loved nothing more then to see him layed out in open ice.

It’s certainly special compared to whatever pain a Red Wings fan has felt. But point taken, not on the level of those truly historic losers.

I really enjoyed last night’s game against Montreal. Any word on Nichol’s injury?
