You guys are way off on Detroit. You’re not giving the defensive forwards credit, comparing them to the ducks offense. You didn’t even mention Damian Brunner who is going to put up great numbers playing on the first line with Datsuk and Zetterberg. If Europe is any indication of his skills, this offense just blew up. Also, the Wings did pick up Gustuvson for depth at goalie, but the backup is still Joey MacDonald (not shitty ass Griffins backup Ty Conklin). Joey Mac did great things last year when Jimmy Howard was injured. Detroit is still, and will always be, a contender.

    • Mike says:

You mean 26-year old undrafted Damien Brunner with 0 games of NHL experience? Color me skeptical on that. Remember Fabrian Brunnstrom?

      • Ipman says:

Re:Oilers D… watchout for Justin Schultz. and spare me the cliche he has no experience argument you employed above, you’ll see

      • mambrow says:

You have every right to be skeptical because he is unproven, I’ll give you that. But for them to put him on their first line next to Datsyuk and Zetterberg is a big deal. The fact that you guys didn’t even mention this makes me think you didn’t do your homework on Detroit.

        • Mike says:

I suggest you listen to a Wings podcast if you want discussion on Detroit line combinations.

          • mambrow says:

Wow, can’t even comment on your analysis of Detroit without you getting butthurt. I guess I should have expected that from a Sharks fan, fuckin’ goons.

            • hateseed says:

In what way was anyone butthurt? He pointed out how your first comment was potentially flawed, then referred you to your own official-unofficial team analyst analysis who generally speaking, know what they are talking about. /scratches head

              • mambrow says:

He told me to listen to a different podcast because I didn’t agree with what he had to say. I’d say that’s butthurt.

All I’m saying here is don’t count out the Wings just yet! They’ve made the playoffs the last 21 years and we haven’t seen them play a game with their latest roster changes.

No, he said if you want in depth analysis on the Red Wings then you should listen to a Red Wings podcast.

It’s a 48 game season, and anything can happen. That includes a lot of bad things when you have an entirely revamped D that has relied on having the best defenseman in the game for the last 2 decades. One rookie playing with Dats and Z hardly offsets that.

                • evilducks says:

Thanks to free Center Ice I got to watch the Red Wings get absolutely steam rolled by the Blues. Brunner was invisible, along with the rest of the team and the Defense looked like they’d never played in an NHL game before.

Please tell me again about how awesome they are? I think they put up 16 shots? There were some horrendous games yesterday, but I have to say, Detroit was the worst team I watched.

The scent of whiny Wings fans brings a tear to my eye cause it means HOCKEY IS BACK!!

  4. Cyoor says:

Now its 30 min left untill the draft in the league. 🙂
I hope you all are ready!

It would be nice to have some people in the chat during the draft.. It will be a quite long one I guess since we have 20 teams.. 🙂
