I realize that tonight’s loss was really disappointing, but I’ll reserve judgment after seeing if they can bounce back next game.
If this really is it for the Sharks I think we can probably say goodbye to Ron Wilson and probably Campbell (although he hasn’t really shined in this series so far).
The most disappointing part about tonight was the fact that the Sharks allowed Patrick Marleau to get the #$*& kicked out of him. Shelley should have been sent out immediately to stop the bleeding. Where was the fire this team showed when Dallas tried this very same garbage in the season finale?
I hate to agree with Mike, but this all has too many shades of playoffs past. We’ve been wrong many times this year so hopefully we’re wrong again….could it really be that the Ducks and Sharks will both lose in Round One?
Totally agree. This MAY have been acceptable if we exacted some physical revenge, if Shelley went right after that kid (or tried to climb over the partition betwen benches) but nothing.
I’ve got to say (somebody else brought this up but I think it’s true) that Boston fans warned us about Jumbo Joe and Buffalo warned us about Soupy… they aren’t big playoff game guys. What, is this the 3rd year now when Joe has dissappeared in the post season? I love the guy, but he has to figure a way out of the pressure he’s getting from the Flames. And Soupy is looking like Ozo out there. Where is the flash we saw in the regular season?
Big Mac needs to sit. I love him, but he’s way, way off his game and is now a liability.
And what’s the point of sitting Gooch for Shelley if he isn’t going to rough these guys up when needed? I appreciate him not wanting to take dumb penalties, but I wouldn’t have considered it poor judgement to take a roughing with a 3-0 or 3-1 lead to stop them from running around.
If I were DW now I would be throwing in the towel. On paper these guys have every piece in place to easliy win the cup. Next to this Sharks fan, he has to be the most frustrated guy on Earth.

My exact same thoughts. We might squeeze out 1 more win, but this was the turning point.

What a shame.
