The Sharks had some disappointing results before Christmas, but beat the best team in the NHL to start off 2019.

Mike’s picks aren’t looking as good as Doug’s, but Mikes are not nearly as bad as they did back in the summer.
Doug’s contenders are: Bolts, Leafs, Jets, Bruins. But Mike has the Caps, Preds, Pens and Flames.
It does look like finally, the last pick Sens, will not make the playoffs.
Hm, not as terrible as I thought. I’ve downgraded myself from criminally moronic to merely stupid.
We may look back at the Tampa Bay game as the official end of the Thornton-Marleau era and the beginning of the Burns-Karlsson era. Yes, everyone played well, but Burns and Karlsson dominated. Rather than having 2 dominant centers, the Sharks have 2 dominant puck-moving D. Will be interesting to see if you can win a championship with your two best players on the blue line.
What a difference great goaltending makes. Jones steals a huge win vs Vegas for the Sharks. His best game of the year.
Sharks are en fuego. I don’t like PDB’s statement that Vlasic and Braun will return to being the shutdown pair. Clearly, Karlsson and Dillon are better st it right now. Big part of the win streak.
