I know the Sharks have been playing some slumping teams, but there’s a real energy to them now. Jones looks like a normal goalie. Kane playing better. And the D much more solid overall. Is it crazy to think the team chemistry and/or two-way play is better without Karlsson? Yes, he’s amazing in the breakout, but his D gaffs offset that.
Also, did anybody else read the FTF interview with DW in which he called Karlsson “the best defenseman in the NHL?” WTF. He wasn’t even an All-Star alternate on a bottom-5 team this year. And what does Burns have to say about this? I’d take Burns over Karlsson, especially at his salary. I wonder if Burns cares about that kind of comment. Some players would ask for a trade. Sorry, time to get rid of DW.
I think Jumbo will be back. The difficult question will be, when the Sharks are a borderline playoff team, will he ask to be traded to a legit contender?
Good podcast as always. Labanc is a big question. Hope the Sharks do not pay him much if they bring him back. As you pointed out his scoring stats are ok – probably will finish with around 20 goals, 40 points. But he is an example of how the plus – minus stat is valuable sometimes. Team worst -32.
This doomsday scenario for the Sharks is very possible: Sens get a top 5 pick from SJ and Sharks fired coach wins the Western Conference. If that becomes, Sens get #1 overall from SJ and PDB wins the cup, can we then, please, finally fire Wilson?

We need the Dudes now more than ever.
I keep thinking, if they cancel the season does that mean we get out #1 pick back from Ottawa?? 😉
