Good show guys, thanks! (Good because it was LONG fyi! 🙂
Indeed, it seems obvious that Wilson was making good on a handshake deal from the year before. Someone ran the numbers: if you add his two contracts together (the one-year deal and the four-year deal) you get 5 years at $3.98M cap hit. I don’t think many of us would have been upset with that after the 56pt season except that it would have increased cap hell situation for the sharks.
I’m trying to remain positive. I think there is a very good chance that Lebanc grows into this deal.
Is Wilson trying to get fired? Ok, joking. But the LaBanc contract is terrible.
This is not a playoff team. Not even close.
Hi Dudes,
I was thinking, with Evander Kane and Eric Karlson hinting at Joe Thornton’s return what are the chances that the Sharks do what they did when they acquired Kyle Wellwood years ago through re-entry waivers with Joe Thorton? I mean it would be very smart financially Joe Thorton signs with Toronto at 700k jersey sales will be through the roof for Toronto. Then Joe doesn’t truly ever play with Toronto and the sharks claim him and Toronto pays half his salary and Sharks half due to Re entry waivers. Do Re entry waiver rules apply to Joe/ is this possible?
Thanks.
Chris
What in gods name is Doug smoking? The Sharks are NOT anything even remotely resembling a playoff team.
Did he drink the entire years worth of cocktails before recording?

Charlie Brown & the football… I honestly belived when these guys said they were gonna do weekly pods over the off season…
Jamie Baker leaving for good. I gotta say, this sounds weird. Why would Baker leave the best job anyone could have – what is he gonna do instead? Was he asked to resign? Going out like Drew only more amicably?
I remember were I was when I first heard Baker on the radio broadcast taking over for Stemkowski – what a breath of fresh air! Stem was getting on, seemed a little slurry at times, but always had a slow delivery. Baker would cram 10x as much info in a 15 second burst than Stemkowski would all night.
Fare well Jamie – I hope it all goes well…
