Great episode. I love salty Doug. I must say I am slightly more optimistic. A better coach, a real goalie, and Ek65 playing better would really elevate the whole team. Not a contender, but a bubble playoff team. I like the idea of freeing cap space by sending Burns to Seattle. One of the few players with a big contract another team might actually go for.

Ok Question:
What kind of side deal do you think Doug Wilson would have to pull to get Ron Francis of the Seattle Krsken to take Erik Karlson and Martin Jones from us, in addition to holding/retaining about 20% of player salary throughout the term?
What do you think would be fair?
Jones as a Number 2 could work; it seems hes just terrible when given even 7 out of 10 games in a stretch. He had a good February and if he wants to stay in the league, Jones should have no problem labeling himself as a guy who could step in for 1 game a week and allow 2 or fewer.
What do you pay for that? Is 2/3 mil too expensive? Pair him with a Jake Allen and have 6 mil at the goalie position for a new franchise??
The goalies available for the exp draft look kinda thin…

Expansion draft rules are quite favorable at the goalie position. Why would Seattle want to pay so much for a mediocre veteran backup when there are better options available, likely for less money?
Dudes, would like to hear your talk about the Sharks possible plans for the Seattle draft.
I’ll say it – would love to see Torts come in as Sharks coach. Team would have some spine. And EK65 would demand a trade.
Actually I’d love that too but it will never happen. Sure looks like more Boughner next year, unfortunately. Not an elite coach.
Wilson thinks Meier is a 30-goal scorer. He was on pace this year for an 18 goal campaign. His stats have declined 3 straight years. Yes, Wilson overvalues his players.
