Thanks for recording so quickly Dudes. Great day for the Sharks. The Gods of Hockey partially rectify the Lindros controversy.

Celebrini is sometimes compared to Toews. After he was drafted third, Toews went back to college for one more year. The Boston Bros should as well. They’re don’t look as built as Bedard and he got injured this year. Not worth the risk. Let them physically grow 1 more year.

Hard no on trading pick 14. Take a defenseman please. Go Sharks!

The best news I’ve had all week! Grier is now really in line for GM of the year 😉 Trust the process.
I get we’re still 2-5 years away from a playoff berth but this is super exciting stuff. With Celebrini, Smith, and Couture as the 3 centers things don’t look as bleak as they’ve been. DUDES – who would be the 1C -3C in this scenario?

Great show again dudes! Id prefer the kids stay another year in college but im on beer six so who cares. The sharks should get greedy and trade up with the 14th pick and maybe pick 33 to grab one of top defensemen in this draft. The sharks need some blue chip defensive prospects bad.

  5. James says:

I think we’re starting to see Grier’s strengths and weaknesses as a GM. He’s emerged as a good deal-maker (Meier and EK65 deals look better and better), isn’t afraid to part with popular players for the betterment of the club (Hertl), and has effectively restocked the forwards / centers prospects. But he seems weak at hiring coaches and finding defensive players including goalies. This coaching hire screams of wanting someone Grier can control. Why not put Warsofsky in charge of the Cuda for a few years and change that club culture? If he’s really an excellent coach, promote him after that, when he’s more experienced. I really thought Sturm would be the hire. If I’m Celebrini, I’m staying in college another year. Let Warsofsky have a year to learn the ropes.

    • Nazir says:

If SJ was considering an assistant as HC, why not fire Quinn with a couple months left in the season and promote the asssitant as an audition? Less risky way of learning if he’s the right guy.

  6. TRex says:

Warsofsky deserves a chance. Obv making the guy in charge of the Sharks’ D and PK last year – both among the worst in franchise history – become the new HC is difficult to justify. But let’s see what happens.

  7. Taylor says:

Anyone wondering if things fell through with Sturm? A lot of weirdness surrounding the Warsofsky hire. Even he seems surprised he was hired.

  8. Mickey says:

Could Warsofsky be a budget hire while the team is still rebuilding? IMO they have a couple more years of rebuilding at a minimum and they have 2-3 more years of dead cap space from trades, buyouts, and Vlasic. If arena attendance is as bad next season as it was last season they may have a couple more lean years and may not be able to justify the higher salary a more competitive coach would demand. An unproven coach may help keep the team in the basement for higher picks in the short term and would be easy to justify letting go in a couple years.
