  1. James says:

I especially enjoyed the draft this year because I’ve been wondering if any of the teams that are “due” will breakthrough – Leafs, Canes, Devils. So I was wondering where those teams would be picked, especially after the Devils were drafted early last year. We’ll see if Doug is correct about the Leafs.

  2. TRex says:

Just imagine if we’d picked Michkov instead of Smith.

  3. Gregory says:

Its been awhile, but I missed you guys! I’ll have to re-setup my rss feed, I’ve been addicted to YT for most of my podcasts.

  4. Trex says:

Avs are 0-4 with a goal differential of -12.

  5. Heather says:

Obv it’s way too early to judge, but yeah, I had this thought. Michkov looks so much better than Will Smith in the very early going. They’re only 4 months apart, but Michkov looks like a grown man out there. Michkov looks like a 40-goal scorer. Kind of exactly what the Sharks need to play with Celebrini.

  6. Nazir says:

I think this is the worst start ever for the Sharks. Not just the winless streak, but Smith not being handled correctly, Celebrini being injured quickly, and the team still having very little identity. This is the 4th coach in 6 years, but I can’t see much difference in team strategy from coach to coach.

That said, the Sharks are headed for better days in the coming years. Their forwards prospect pool is exciting. And if they draft a stay-at-home tower-of-strength defensemen in the first round this year, between that player, plus Dickinson and Mukhamadullin, they would have a decent D prospect pool too.

The Dudes were right about the Cuda. They are 5-1. Askarov is 4-0 with a 0.954 save percentage. Cagnoni and Bystedt each have 7 points in 6 games. Perhaps things are getting sorted out there? Maybe Smith and Musty should be on that club. I wonder what the advantage of putting those players in the OHL is versus the AHL. Perhaps Mike can explain.

Keep recording Dudes. Your podcasts can get us through the season!

  7. James says:

Wondering why Smith is still on the big club. 0 points -4 through 8 games. Mostly invisible. Seems obvious he needs to go to the Cuda for a while.

  8. James says:

    Where are the Duuudes?

Also, while Granlund is having a monster year, can we acknowledge how good the EK65 trade was? Pens take almost the whole albatross EK65 contract, and the Sharks gets a first which ultimately became Dickinson, and Granlund, arguably their best player the past 2 seasons. Sure there was Hoffman and Rutta, but Rutta is actually helping SJ and Hoffman wasn’t on a long contract. Pretty sweet deal.
