Agree with Mike. Don’t like the the move because it cost us picks. The team is 2-3 years away from contending. And this Panarin talk is absurd. So many other more pressing needs, like D and goalie.
Not so sure about Sherwood after that one game… looks pretty avg – at least we have time to see if he’s a fit – if not, chuck him at the deadline.
I tend to like hoarding picks and prospects and agree they aren’t contending for a while. However, you can’t just wait until some magic date when all of a sudden you are ready to go after upgrades, and those upgrades will just be sitting there.
They liked the player Sherwood a lot, and he became available. It feels early, but it’s not hard at all to imagine the team taking a quantum leap next year. Say Asky, Misa, Dickinson, and Cherny all take a step. That’s not hard to imagine. Then adding Sherwood, they are probably vying for the top 2nd or 3rd spot in the Pacific.
I agree Sherwood didn’t look incredible in the one game, but he will likely be a fan fav very soon. The Sharks definitely need that kind of player. I didn’t like him on the top line, i feel he should be 2nd or 3rd liner.
