But not still watching – after 2 years of paying for NHL subscription, and getting more and more depressed as the seasons went on and gradually dropping away, I took the step of not renewing this year – planning to just watch highlights without knowing the score. But I haven’t even been able to keep up with that. I don’t know whether I should be wanting them to win or lose, and then to listen to a podcast discussing getting rid of the good players they do have, its just really grim.

The Sharks had the best record in the NHL over a 13 year period, and it was a great ride, but impossible to sustain in a salary cap world, so it was always going to drop off.
I just really think it shows that losing that series against St Louis was the window slamming shut and they needed to go full rebuild at that point. The whole attempt to retooling on the fly was never going to work and has set the franchise back years.
But ignoring the Sharks, you guys are still entertaining, so don’t let that stop you continuing to record!!!
Great post Andy – It’s been REALLY Hard watching the sharks this year. I find myself forgetting the start time and instead checking the early score. If it looks like they are doing alright, I’ll watch, but even then… their record after scoring the first goal must be the worst in the league.
Thanks for the poddy dudes – makes the season a little more bearable. I would normally be pining for more shows, but I get it – who wants to talk about THIS bunch?
