I listened to a few chomp talk episodes back in the day, and I had to stop because I can’t stand Chetan. He has no idea what he is talking about. He talks so he can hear his voice, but all that comes out is nonsense. Mike is great, but Chetan ruins the entire show. Sorry if he is your friend, but its torture to hear good points followed up by garbage.
David, I have to agree with you. While Chetan seems like a good enough guy, you can tell that he is more of a casual hockey fan that lacks the deep understanding of the dynamics of the sport to add anything truely insightful. Doug’s guest appearance on Chomtalk just confirms what I have always though…that the Dudes really need a radio show.
i thought randy was coming on? good show, dudes. chetan, you are really stretching your voice out, no one talks in real life like that, you sound like a 80’s game show host… suuurvey says?!regarding the lines, they need to ditch plihal and goc, those dudes have zero emotion which is the reason why the sharks fail in the playoffs. i think those dudes are there for capre suns and oranges.
Hate to turn this into a bash session, but I agree 100% about Chetan. I am a huge fan of the dynamic between Mike & Doug. And nothing bothers me more than people who flip-flop! Chetan says one thing, Mike refutes it, and then he’ll immediately agree with Mike (or reiterate what Mike just said). Case in point: when Dan Cleary got penalized for boarding Joe Thornton back in February. Chetan says it’s a clean hit in one breath, Mike later says it was dirty and then Chetan agrees.
The thing that bothers me the most about Chetan is how he misuses figures of speech constantly. One example of this in your most recent podcast is “That is really his achilles tendon” Rather than “That is really his achilles heel”. I also think that his little hissy fits during the show are uncalled for and really just reveals the fact that he is a self absorbed drama queen:
“Hey! I’m the one running the show here!” please.
