First Hockey is Here

The first rookie game of Sharks vs. Ducks happened last night at Sharks Ice, and sharkspage has a nice writeup on it. I was not there, still enjoying my Labor Day weekend by doing manual labor. But I do plan on going tonight, and it’s likely Doug and I will both go on Wednesday. I want to see these kids for myself, and although I’m far from any kind of scout, it might be interesting to try and project where some of these guys will end up.
I’ve heard that the line last night was very long even at the opening time of 5pm, so I’m going to have to suck it up and get there early. Waiting around isn’t a strong suit for me.
I was at some rookie games a few years back. It was when Devin and those guys were unknowns to most and Anze Kopitar was a nobody. I went to three games I think it was. Some of the best hockey imo due to the players wanting to be noticed. Hunts and Zetts were the coaches for htose games so Wilson and Wilson could “watch” together.
Enjoy the games and I wish I could go to the Teal and White game as well.
=)
They really need to do something about letting people in quicker. It’s the same thing for when training camp begins and people show up for scrimmages. It takes at least an hour to get in.
Anyway dudes. I think it’s time to start a Fantasy League, and I want to play this year. Are you going to start one?
I got there at 3pm and was second in line. By 5 there weren’t close to the 700 people limit, so if today is anything like yesterday, there’s no need to be concerned. Though it’s possible that there might more people out there tonight.
It was good just to see hockey again.
yes… jacob is right. Especially yesterday was Labor Day and most people cannot get out of work until 6 or so. I am expecting less people tomorrow.
