Good podcast dudes.
Thanks for answering my question. I know bringing up Avery is sort of an apples to oranges comparison. It just irritates me to no end that some no talent player like Cooke could take out a key guy on our team with absolutely no repercussions because the league wants to be ‘consistent’ meanwhile they practically chase a guy out of the league because he made a joke on camera that was in poor taste? It’s not like Avery was some role model that kids looked up to before that comment. Kane assaulted a cabby, how many games did he get? He’s actually a role model to kids in Chicago… nevermind, I think I answered my own question.
Colin Campbell is useless.
Totally agree. Avery’s antics are harmless. Sure, he does some idiotic things and I know there are people who think he’s “bad for the game”, but I happen to enjoy watching him. He cracks me up. One of the great things about hockey is how the players, in general, are such likable people – especially in comparison to athletes in other sports. Avery, on the other hand, is a welcomed change to all of that. I wouldn’t want everyone in the sport to act like him, but I also wouldn’t want everyone to be like Joe Sakic (great hockey player, totally gracious, but boring personality). Avery brings excitement in a non-threatening way. Ron Artest, take notice.
“Bring your gun”. Best quote of this podcast. That got an audible laugh.
+1. And I hope you saw this- I’ve watched it five times, and laughed every time.

Dost my ears deceive me? Or did Mike make a football reference on a hockey podcast!?!
OLD football. Next week I’ll make a Renaldo Nehemiah reference.
Oh, you mean “Skeets”? He was lightning fast. An Olympic sprinter if memory serves.
So… Did many people leave before the 3rd started tonight?
That was an amazing 20 minutes of hockey, would be nice if they’d do that for 60 minutes, but I’m not going to be too hard on them after that 3rd period.
