Shocking – Lilja Not Signed
October 5th, 2010, 8:19 am
Per Pollak. I’m not being facetious here. I thought for sure he’d be on the opening day roster. I guess that means two things- one, that Niclas Wallin is healthy enough to play. Two, that Lilja wasn’t playing better (or better by a big enough margin) to play every night, so they might as well have Mike Moore or somebody else in the #7 slot. We’ll be talking all about that tonight, along with our season preview. Email us or post something on FB if you want us to talk about something specific.

I wonder if Lilja thought… “Why should I take less than 1m if Kent Huskins gets 1.7m and I’m better than Huskins…?”
That’s what I’m betting on. They couldn’t agree on price, or maybe the Sharks wanted a 2-way deal like Leach has?
look at the bright side…
..at least Lilja won’t have to deal with all of our trash-talking this season.
So is it sure that he wont be signed later?
I wanted lilja tbh.. He is stable and you know where you got him imo.
Kirk Maltby was placed on waivers today. That’s a guy the Sharks should take a look at.
I’m surprised Lilja didn’t make the cut. He turned down $1M to stay in Detroit so I think the guys above are probably right.
@MJ – that doesn’t seem like a bright side for us. I get a kick out of the trash talking.
