3rd line should be called the Doghouse Line as Boedker, Hansen, and Tierney have all been benched or publicly criticized by PDB at one time or another. Tierney has taken ownership of 3rd line center. That feels great since that position has been in flux ever since DW became GM.
Thoughts on Kane: 1) Don’t like his off-ice behavior, won’t root for him. 2) Contrary to Kurz’ tweet, there is zero chance he signs w/ Sharks. So this is a rental to make the playoffs, costing us a 2nd, 4th, O’Regan. And if we make the playoffs, our ’18 1st round pick obviously gets lower. 3) He’s an odd rental for a playoff push considering in 8 full NHL season, none of his teams have ever made the playoffs. 4) Has everyone forgotten, the guy is injury prone?
I wouldn’t say there’s zero chance he resigns. One article I read claimed he was hoping to move to the western conference. I am surprised that national media are calling this a lopsided deal for the Sharks. Dude grabbed a woman by the throat and ordered her to go home and sleep with him. If #MeToo ever hits sports, both NHL players named Kane will be persona non grata. I won’t be watching the game tonight.
Keep in mind, they didn’t sign him to a multi-year deal. There is a trial period here. If he’s a problem, they’ll just let him go after the season. Could work out real well if he behaves and scores. That said, I’m disappointed that Wilson is back to his old tricks of giving up first-round picks.
Here’s a crazy idea – when he returns, Thornton should center the 3rd line. Keep this top line together – they have so much speed. Then have Tierney center the 4th line, a 20-goal scorer. 4 scoring lines, even more scoring depth than the Pens 2 years ago. Absolutely deadly.

p.s. Ryan Carpenter has 3 goals in his last 4 games, 5 goals in 13 games for VGK. Would much rather have him as our 4th line C than Fehr.
Dudes, what would you give up for Skinner?

There is a great piece on EK9 at FtF by the newish editor. Her take is completely different than all the national hockey commentators, who are men.

If Jumbo comes back healthy, imagine a top line of Kane Thorton Pavelski. Wow.
