Here’s an idea for a side bet: Each round, you guys pick the winners and loser of each series, with points for accuracy (1 point for guessing series winner, and possibly an extra point for guessing the correct # of games). Whoever has the most points come the end of the playoffs/tournament wins. If you want, each round can be worth more points than the last (ie 1 point for getting qualifying round correct, 2 points for getting the “round of 16” correct, and so on)

look at how much the panthers improved without BB. personally, i would have preferred bb not be promoted to head coach this year, because now you have to lose him as an assistant coach if you bring in a new head coach.
personally, i have a very different opinion of the roster than the dudes. i think the roster is terrible. i love couture, ferraro, and burns. those are really the only guys i’d hang on to. i’d go into a full rebuild, no matter what the cost. obviously, that’s not going to happen. so i think the team will continue to be a borderline playoff team for a while. my guess is, laviolette comes in, they make the playoffs, lose in the first round, wilson keeps his job. status quo. ho-hum.
clarification: if the sharks were to go into a rebuild (which i know they will won’t) i’d trade away any veteran including couture and burns who i love.
re the vegas bet, i say let it ride and have a blowout week in vegas whenever you can return.

They were on pace to miss playoffs this year and 92.5 pts, with coach Q. With BB last year they finished with 86. I don’t believe the roster has changed dramatically, so this doesn’t look that bad for BB…
