Rob Blake Retires
June 9th, 2010, 2:15 pm
According to CSN, which I’m not going to dispute. It’s what we heard Mark Purdy allude to the very night the Sharks were eliminated. On today’s podcast (which you already listened to, didn’t you? WHY NOT???) we thought that we wouldn’t hear anything until after the Stanley Cup Finals were over, but “a source close to the situation” couldn’t keep his/her trap shut. Hard to keep these things a secret. 1270 NHL regular season games, 777 points, 1679 PIM, 146 playoff games, 73 points, 166 PIMs. If that ain’t a Hall of Fame career for a defenseman, I don’t know what is.
And of course…

All these guys retiring is starting to make me feel old. Rob Blake is a class act and will be missed.
With Blake retiring, Wallin moving to Sweden, Nabby on his way out and all the Marleau rumors….is it possible DW will have a lot of unanticipated holes to fill this off-season?
Um, Wallin moving to Sweden was a rumor too…
What are “all the Marleau rumors”? Been too busy at work (and getting ready to move to LA) lately to keep up with anything.
It was rumored Patty purchased a house in LA when in fact it was Los Gatos (I think). Plus there is a lot of talk about the Kings being interested in Patty.
I believe the joke is in the posting. “…too busy at work (and getting ready to move to LA)” posted by one “Patrick”.
Yeah, I’m pretty dense lol.
Actually that was the truth… after growing up in the Bay Area I’ve spent the last 9 years in the midwest, and FINALLY am back in California. It may be SoCal, but at least it beats Cleveland.
touche.
Dudes – with the hockey season now over, its time for the World Cup…
Come on England!
Hmmm – can we get Nabby to play in goal for England???
Well played USA, honours even & perhaps we’ll meet again in the Final?
