The Dudes are thrilled about the wins over Vancouver and Minnesota, and hope the good streak continues.  Also, the Nabokov saga is interesting fodder for the podcast, as well as your emails…

Dudes, that t-shirt is probably the greatest addition to my wardrobe ever. It has near 3 wolf woon powers.

  2. Patrick says:

Hate to be a geography snob, but Mississauga is part of greater Toronto, and the home of the Toronto Airport. And as was pointed out several times to me when I visited from Cleveland, it’s a bigger city in its own right than Cleveland is.

  3. Ruben says:

You think Staal lets Skinner last until the last pick of the draft to give the rookie a little grief?

Last pick has to be a forward, as all goalies have to be picked in first 10 rounds, and all Dmen in the first 15 (so Dan Boyle won’t be last). My pick for last forward chosen, if not Skinner, is Loui Eriksson. Last DMan will be Erik Karlsson, and last goalie will be Jonas Hiller, who has probably been the 2nd best goalie this year.

I’ve liked Wellwood so far, as well. Eager…ehh, him and Mayers are interchangeable, though I think McGinn might get nudged out if he doesn’t start scoring in the next game or two. Eager-Nichol-Mayers is a nice sandpaper line, but McGinn adds a lot more speed and probably hits more than any of those guys.

Looks like the Sharks can produce a lot of 2nd/3rd liners and 3rd/4th Dmen, but nothing on top and bottom (with the exception of Marleau, who was a #2 overall pick). I’m surprised at the inability to stock the 4th line and bottom D-pairings with homegrown talent, but no team does everything well I guess.

Bryan Murray all but advertising that many of his players including Chris Phillips are available for trade…

    http://espn.go.com/blog/nhl/post/_/id/3921/nhl-trade-deadline-were-one-month-away

SJ mentioned here but less as a rumor and more as a possible destination…

Phillips has been mentioned here and on every Sharks blog and chatroom as a possible target for us.

Question: What would we have to give up to get Phillips and would we or DW be willing to give those assets up?

I’m thining some combo of Seto, Mitchell, and hopefully Huskins….

Haven’t seen you on FTF in awhile dude! Get back on board!

      • Tom says:

Appreciate the check in, its nice to see someone noticed! But I had my account deleted on SB Nation. I got tired of the constant back and forth on FTF and the Red Wings thing got ridiculous. Feel free to tell everybody I said hello!

        • evilducks says:

The Wings fans haven’t been back in months and who else is going to help me laugh at butternuts when he inevitably creates another account to spew his crap over there?

    • MJ says:

Dude, Dreger tweeted something about a SJS-TOR deal involving Thornton?!

This is why I hate deals involving Brian Burke. They’re either wildly false or wildly true.

Either way, you don’t know if it’s really gonna happen until it’s all said-and-done.

  5. Andy C says:

Dudes – I just watched the Guardian Project video for “The Shark”… Its really cool (great animation BTW) & the whole project is great idea that will really enhance my appreciation of both the Sharks and the NHL.

I don’t think your review of the “Project” in this podcast was fair & I think you need to actually watch the video before pre-judging it. I think you need to apologise to your listeners, to Gary Bettman & to Stan Lee.

  6. Tiffany says:

I’m a little late on this, but I was always under the impression that Will Ferrell’s crease was an appendectomy scar or something along those lines. Also, I agree completely with your thoughts on the Nabokov situation. I’d try to elaborate, but I fear I’d just be repeating something one of you said earlier. Anyway, good podcast!
