That opening was the funniest four minutes of podcasting you guys have ever done.

Best intro EVER! WTF were you guys talking about?

FYI – my college floor hockey team was Penguins in Bondage – we were awesome!

Great episode. I agree with your grades for the forwards. Lots of C’s and D’s and at least one F.

The Sharks problem is their roster has 6 legitimate top-6 forwards: Thornton, Burns, Marleau, Couture, Pavelski (yes, he is a top-6 style forward), and Havlat (when healthy). Then they have a pair of strong 3rd line players: Torres (when not suspended) and Galliardi (when on his game). But that’s it. After that, they have no one that would crack the lineup of a team like the Bruins, Hawks, or Kings. So they put players into roles they are not a good fit for. And when injuries or suspensions kick in, the lack of depth really shows.

Imagine if DW had somehow managed to keep Coyle, McGinn, and Winnik. Would love to see those guys filling up the bottom 6 rather than Gomez, Sheppard, Burish, Desjardins, et al.

On D, the Sharks have their goalie and a solid group, but need a shut-down guy. Easier said than done.
