Such a great episode. Love this podcast.

  2. Taylor says:

Reaching for positives … 1) A month from now, the Sharks should have 3 additional forwards available: Couture, Smith, and Torres. 2) We haven’t heard anything from Doug Wilson in a while, nor are there any hot Sharks trade rumors at the moment. Based on his past, that seems to be when Wilson makes deals.

I hope you are right. I’ve said this before, I think the Sharks should trade anything they could get serious returns for.

I’d trave Pavelski in a heart beat BTW.

      • Ruben says:

He is the #1 trade chip. Even Vlasic is only 28, probably has another 4-6 years as a top pair Dman (especially with his style of play) and so would still be useful after a rebuild.

Pavs? We’ll be lucky if he is a 40 pt player in 2020. But he is as good as it gets right now. I’ve said it before, if Nashville came and offered Seth Jones for Pavelski straight up, I’d do it even if it breaks my heart.

But, I think we are only going to see a small trade. Wingels is slowly falling down the depth chart, from top 6 tweener to playing on the 4th line tonight. With his cap hit, he will be used to get a depth defenseman, some new version of Nic Wallin or Colin White.

    Guys,

Jeff Marek has said several times that be believes, or has been told, that Doug Wilson is essentially “helping” Hasso Plattner run this franchise. So, to the question how many lives DW has, I think unlimited unless he does something major. I certainly don’t think missing the playoffs will get him fired.

  4. Rosevelt says:

I was one of the biggest advocates for Burns on D. That’s what he was traded for, that’s his natural position, etc. But after watching his play on this road trip, I have done a 180. Put him at forward and pick up another couple of D players. If that’s not possible, trade him while his value is perceived as high for a better D-man.

    • Tom says:

Im happy with Burns and his play this year. That said… I would trade him before I put him back as a forward. If
they put him back and then his game, or career, flounders, we’re screwed.
