Personally, I think he stomped on Kesler deliberately.  But then, I hate Pronger.  With a passion.  A passion so hot I would love it if he were on the Sharks.  The league has a nice history of looking the other way when star players commit offenses.  Hey, I know the evidence may not be compelling to some, but I have a tough time believing that Steve Downie wouldn’t be looking at an suspension if he were the guy in the video.  You know why Pronger does it?  Because he can get away with it.  The mark of a good player.  Annoying douchebag as well, but a good player.

It’s the verbage that gets me. Did he step on Kesler? Sure. Did he stomp? Don’t think so.
Looks like he was trying to get untangled from a guy who was wrapped around his ankles.

This doesn’t need to devolve into a semantic argument, but to me, stomping is stepping on something deliberately. I think it was deliberate. I understand if others don’t see it that way.

Just looked at it… this guy is a douche. Just searching his name on You Tube returns a plethora of dirty plays. I hope Shelley is hitting the heavy bags in prep for him. I couldn’t find any bouts between them on YouTube, does anyone know if they’ve gone in the past?

I anticipate Pronger to be a bit neutered against these Sharks, especially if Clowe is back on the ice. God, I can’t wait for the 21st!

When I watch the incident, it appears deliberate and inexcusable. Especially in the wake of both the Simon stomp and Zednik accident, Pronger should be shown no special treatment.

The good news is the NHL is getting a 2nd chance to get this right during a hearing tomorrow. I hope they do the right thing and Pronger should be given ten games for his wreckless conduct. Kesler initiated the contact and that is the only difference between Simon and Pronger, in my eyes.

  5. Jeremy says:

This was brought up by Bob McKenzie on TSN, but why isn’t there the outrage over Laraque’s suspension? 3 games!!! Downie got 6 times that.
Pronger will get a game, at most, because everyone in Canada is frustrated over the Cup being in California. Be ware, Sharks fans, that if you win the Cup, every play will be scrutinized.
