First, you gotta check out our latest podcast where we talk all things Claude Lemieux and San Jose Sharks.

You gotta believe that tonight is going to be another barn burner at the Tank as the red hot Blackhawks soar into town, having won three in a row on their yearly West Coast swing. They have endured some crazy travel, including a trip from Phoenix to Toronto and then back to San Jose, but this hasn’t slowed down the trendiest team in NHL. It’s easy to like the Blackhawks. They have one of the scariest top lines in hockey, a goalie controversy, an excellent top four on defense and a coach with a creepy mustache. If I wasn’t a Sharks fan, and I’ve admitted this before, I would follow this Blackhawks team from a far.

I expect Chicago to come out looking for revenge tonight, and I suspect they will give San Jose everything they can handle and then some. Word is that Nabby will be back in between the pipes and I can’t think of a tougher team to throw him out against after a long lay off. We’ll see if Chicago stuffs Nabby’s turkey or if our MVP sends Patrick Kane crying to Denis Savard’s pumpkin pie.

Here’s a good question: Will Sharks fans boo Brian Campbell tonight? I’m going to say no. Why should they? We got the better deal here, didn’t we? If you put both men side by side, I would pick Dan Boyle every day and twice on Thanksgiving….so no “Boo’s” tonight Sharks fans. What’s the point? He’s not Ed Belfour.

I don’t want to predict anything….but I have to admit – after some thought today – this could be the Sharks first regulation loss at the Tank tonight. This rivalry is just getting heated up.

Chicago and San Jose are the future of the Western Conference.

I’d boo Campbell when he’s introduced, but that’s about it. I am also still waiting for someone to lay a big hit on him. I’m glad he left so we now have Boyle and don’t have Carle, but he led us all along to believe he was seriously considering signing here.

However, no chance Hawks are getting away with a win tonight. Sharks will come out hungry to play, Detroit is laid an egg in Vancouver and is now laying another egg against Montreal at home, so we can increase our lead over them.

Besides, we’ve already beaten them 12 times in a row and haven’t lost in regulation at home since 1999. It’s not happening tonight.

Sharks 6 Hawks 3. PP will again net most of the goals.

  2. Always glad to be wrong….Sharks do it again.

  3. BreAnn says:

So because I live out east and only saw part of the game before I fell asleep, was there any booing of Campbell?

  4. There was a medium boo every time Campbell touched the puck for the first two periods. Not a “Pronger” boo – a level down. Like I said before, I don’t get why Campbell should get that treatment. Now if the Sharks were under .500 and still had Matt Carle running the PP, then I would boo because he left the Sharks out in the cold….but we are better off with Boyle – no doubt.

  5. BreAnn says:

I agree, I prefer Boyle. I figured Campbell would go where the money was and sure enough he did. Even though throughout the remainder of the season he kept saying he wanted to work something out to stay a Shark. We are better off without Carle and having Boyle. We got rid of people that weren’t working for us in the Campbell and Boyle trades. I like the look of this year’s Sharks.

It wasn’t pretty, but it was still a win. Unfortunately the second line (except Clowe) were pretty quiet and both Cheech and Goc seemed to be having pretty off games, especially trying to clear the puck out.
