post No Podcast This Week

Sorry, our schedules won’t permit it.  There literally isn’t an hour between 8am and midnight free for both of us any day this week.  As for the Wings game, it was depressing to witness first hand, but my kneejerk reaction is, how can you expect to beat the best team in the west with half of an AHL blueline?  Don’t want to beat up the new guys, but there were several times where that was readily apparent.  More later.

I used to respect the sharks. But I have to hate them and hope that they suffer a series of horrible misfortunes as long as the dispicable, traiterous, doucher remains uninjured and playing. I hope you enjoy paying this waste of humanity millions of your dollars. Cheers from Ottawa…….

If I recall correctly, the Senators paid Heatley millions of dollars after he irresponsibly got a teammate of his killed?

I mean, you had to see something like this coming. Does this mean you can’t possibly respect the Senators organization either?

I think it was reasonable to give him a second chance after a terrible accident. Obviously he didn’t intend to kill his friend. In this case he intentionally abused his position to push his own self-interested agenda at the expense of his teammates and organization that had given him a second chance. Everyone was good to him, and the media exceptionally respectful. And what did he do? He spat right back in peoples’ faces without even explaining why, except to say that his role had been “diminished,” by a coach who wasn’t afraid to make this self centred assnob a part of a team. I can understand that you like the guy scoring you goals, but you have to admit it was one of the all time douche moves in NHL history. Sharks fans are going to be happy to delude themselves into thinking he’s a great guy, but he’s not. You’re paying a millionaire douche, who is a discredit to an otherwise great team. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

You’re so right. Hindering his teammates and organization from success in a game should be taken much more seriously than the loss of another person’s life. Ottawa definitely had the high ground in trading for him, but San Jose is deplorable for acquiring him after he decided he’d rather play in another city.

          • sensfan says:

so your argument is that he should be banned from playing forever? My point is more about intention, rather than outcome. I thought that would be fairly self evident. I don’t really blame San Jose for taking advantage of another team’s weakness, that’s fair enough, if not exactly honourable. But the douche is a douche through and through for what he did to his teammates and the organization, and I think that would be hard to argue against.

Don’t let your conscience drag you down on your way to success or anything! Real classy.

      • Tom says:

I realize maybe one person is gonna get this joke… But you would happen to be a Wings fan would you??
