post Well, That Was Surprising, Part 2

Sharks well on their way to another disappointing loss, and they wake up again.  I think I need a mood stabilizer.  I shut off the TV a couple of times in anger during the game, then the Sharks roar back, get a couple of decent calls, have the clock expire literally hundredths of a second before the puck goes in, and then show up Bobrovsky in overtime.  Two fantastic moves by Clowe and Couture, both going to their “bread and butter”- deke to the backhand.  Clowe goes for the roof, Couture the five hole.

Again I’m impressed by the Sharks mettle.  And again I’m disappointed they have to get their butts kicked for a while before they figure out what to do.  On a road trip, against a Stanley Cup finalist, I’ll give them a little more latitude.  But I still feel the same way about tomorrow as I did about tonight- the Sharks could get murdered, we just have to wait and see.

Don’t forget to listen to the podcast.

I would what magic one liner Trent Yawney delivered to just motivate the Sharks enough to stop that puck 1 inch short of the line.

That WAS surprising, but unlike some of the other games that they were losing badly, I had a feeling that they would put up a fight at the end. The McCarthy no-goal was a spark, and even though it didn’t count, I think the Sharks rallied around it and made it happen. I got that same feeling, by the way, last year against the Predators when we came back with 5 goals in the 3rd period.

Agree with Baba… I felt the same way. I knew we would make a come back as soon as that McCarthy goal was being reviewed. I think it’s a sense that Sharks fans just seem to have. The team looked a lot like last season when you couldn’t EVER count the Sharks out of a game. They just like to have us sweat it out and swear a few times before they get it done.

You know, another guy to add on the “impressive” list is Clowe. Guy has changed from a power play specialist to possibly the top player on the boards with good playmaking abilities. I still don’t want him out there in the defensive zone against Toews and Datsyuk, but man its fun to watch him wear guys out when he has the puck.

Braun with another assist. Marleau and Pavs sinking further down in the +/- department. Sharks good in the shootout. What a crazy season.
