After so much promise, the US hockey team hits a wall against Canada and Finland, ending up with no medal to show for it.  The Dudes are already over it, and looking forward to the imminent return of Raffi Torres and Logan Couture.  But how will they fit under the cap?

    Shouldnt this be episode 263?

I would love to hear you guys broadcast an away game, but I almost always have to DVR games and watch them after they’re over. Assuming you also recorded and posted it and I could sync it later or something, my no vote would flip to a yes.

Any word on just how the sharks managed to limbo under the cap for the Feb 27 game?

I believe Stuart is on LTIR, but clearly another shoe needs to drop. I think we can save money by sending down Havlat (they will be subject to waivers, but nobody is taking Havlat) , or at least it appears that way on Cap Geek. That will save us enough money to activate Stuart (assuming that Tennyson gets assigned when Stuart is activated). It is not enough to activate both Stuart and Hertl, though.

Havlat has a (NMC) No Movement Clause and cannot be reassigned unfortunately.

This is according to Capgeek per his agent via Twitter.

  5. Eric says:

Oh, Shephard would also have to be assigned to make the above work.

Before I mention this let me just say this; I’m not necessarily advocating for this, or even think its a good idea… I’m merely asking opinions here. So take this with a grain of salt.

Remember a few years ago when it was strongly rumored that DW took a swing an acquiring Jaroslav Halak? At the time STL got him it was rumored the price MTL wanted was too high. Well everyone is saying BUF is looking to simply flip him again. Minn is the likely target but Russo is also saying he thinks the Wild their doubts.

Anyone think DW might take stab at him? Especially if the price is right?

Even crazier, how about a Neemo for Halak trade? Their cap hits are nearly identical although Halak is set for UFA and Neemo has one more year on contract.

I’ll just say this, Neemo hasn’t looked solid this year and I have my doubts about him.

Again not advocating here just thinking out loud. I’m always trying to think what DW might do.
