I can’t believe you guys are actually still talking about the playoffs. Sorry, win 7 in a row? Doug has been so wrong about everything this season. But, I like his Martin Jones plan.

    • Taylor says:

No, the Sharkiest possible thing would be Jones starts to play well, just enough for the Sharks to abandon plans to buy him out.

I love this podcast. Been listening for over 10 years. Taking a break from the team, so thought I would engage in some wild speculation.

I think Dillon will be dealt for a 2nd, which will become a 1st if he resigns with the team who traded for him. Thornton and Marleau will be dealt to separate teams to make a playoff run, but sadly neither team will win it all. After DW refuses to give them new contracts, they will each sign with the Sharks for a day at the start of next season so they can retire Sharks. The Sharks will make the playoffs next year and lose in the first round. And the cycle of playoff futility will continue in perpetuity.

Now with EK65 out the remainder of the season, not like its much longer, you’ll see the excuse train coming in. Everyone knows this season has been about how horribly the players performed, NOT injuries. Disappointing on many levels. But I fear this will give management just enough justification to claim player “adversity” was the main issue this year.

  4. James says:

Interesting that the Sharks are playing with more a little more fire without many of their stars in the lineup. No Karlsson, Kane, Couture, Hertl. Yet the Wild game was excellent. Lucky bounce, sure, but they played a solid road game. IMHO they could trade Karlsson and spend that money better elsewhere. In that regard, it’s gonna be real interesting to see how Burns plays down the stretch now that he’s “the man” again. Also, I feel like Coach Boughner is trending up.
