After such a disappointing end to the season, we were both a little surprised you all were nice enough to leave appreciative comments on the last post.  Thank you all for that.  We weren’t going to record a podcast tonight, but it’s such a (crappy) momentous occaision, we couldn’t help it.  Here it is.  And stay tuned- it’s still “Sharks” Hockey Analysis, and we’ll be checking in on the Worchester Sharks, since they are still alive in the Calder Cup playoffs, and it will give us some insight as to the makeup of the SJ Sharks next season.

    So in the west I am going with:
    Wings and Hawks

    In the east:
    Penguins and Bruins
    although I’d be just as happy to watch caps vs. Bruins.

    Who does everyone else have?

  2. I agree with all your picks, Ian – although I think the Ducks and Canes are going to be a handful.

    Great podcast dudes.

    Captaincy=overrated: +1
    Joe=too much blame: +1
    Vanishing 2nd line: +1
    Nabby=#1 difference: +1
    Vlasic dome problems: +1
    DW=must stay: +1

    You guys racked up the points here. The only thing I disagreed with was that the Ducks were the better team. If by better you mean they won, then, yeah. Other than that, there is no doubt in my mind the Sharks were “better.” But I’m glad I have my own office here at work, cause I kept exclaiming “Yeah! Totally!” after every point you guys made.

    You guys had a couple of great calls last summer (another Summer Christmas present a la Dan Boyle hopefully again this year?). I will be listening intently.

    Also, I never get current players on my jersey, but if I do buy a new jersey, it might just have “Mitchell” on the back.

  4. Ruben says:

    Im gonna go with the Canucks in the West, just because I think I have underestimated them too long, and I’ve seen up close what great goaltending can do.

    Out East, I’m pulling for the Caps, but the Bruins were probably the best team statistically this year. So Bruins-Canucks in the finals.

  5. Ian says:

    On the topic of the captaincy, I agree with what was said in the podcast, I think what it would do however is be symbolic to the fans especially you guys that buy the tickets that yes ownership hears you. Dispite all the playoff disapointments and the fingers pointed at Marleau nothing has ever really happened to the core of this team, and unless you get a hell of a deal you can’t really move anyone. I think if you give the C to a guy like Boyle hes a star player that can take the heat and take some of the mircoscope off of Marlau and that may actually help him in the long run.

    Other then that I basically agree with what you guys said, if DW is removed I’ll be pissed!

    Guys, I’ve been listening since the first podcast and I haven’t missed an episode yet. Thanks for the great work and please keep it up.

  7. Ian says:

    Well DW is safe, thats a definate sigh of releif.
