post What Sharks fans want for Christmas

Happy holidays to everyone out there in SharksLand. If you caught this weeks podcast then you know I’m in the deep south for the holidays, where the food is fried and the hockey is hard to find. Thank god my father in law has Versus.

Mike and I threw out what we’d like to see Santa put under the Sharks tree this year. I think my main wish is a puck moving d-man to support Mr. Boyle, but I’m not sure Joni Pitkanen will fit in a chimney.

So, fellow dudes on hockey, what do you want for Christmas? While you mull it over, check out my latest meal at the Paula Deen buffet. I feel like Bruce Boudreau and Barry Trotz all in one.

  1. Mike says:

I hope you asked Santa for an angioplasty.

  2. Ivan M says:

Since Kovalchuk is having trouble resigning the contract, maybe Dougie will go all in, and throw in two 1st round picks, a prospect and whatever else we need to get cap space for two months of Kovalchuk in the Sharks uniform.

    We won’t need defense.

Can you imagine first line with Heatley, second line with Kovalchuk and Seto, and the rest?

That’s what I wish for my Christmas.

  3. David says:

All i want for Christmas is the Sharks to win the Stanley Cup!

    Merry Christmas to you dudes!

  4. Ryan says:

    Dion Phaneuf.

    ‘neuf said.

Is puck moving really the answer? or do we need a top tier shut down D?

  6. Ruben says:

Man Ivan, I was thinkin the same thing. Clowe, Huskins, McGinn and a 1st rounder for Kovy would be a home run. Kovy-Pavs-Seto as a SECOND LINE????? Are you kidding me? I know, that’s a steep price for a rental, but this isn’t Bill Guerin or something. With Kovy the Sharks would have IMO 2 of the top 3 pure goal scorers in the league.

But then again, I’m in the camp that thinks Vlasic is one of the top Dmen in the league dollar for dollar and that Demers is 80% of Brian Campbell at 10% the cost. But like you said, Ivan. Who needs D with that lineup?

  7. Ian says:

Anything short of a Cup will be unacceptable 🙂

  8. bcsteve says:

What would it take to get Shea Weber? Clowe, Huskins, and a 1st rounder?

    • Doug says:

First, no way Weber is for sale given the surprise success of the Preds, but I would imagine for a young player like Weber the price would be more like Seto, Demers and 1st rounder.

      Would you do that?
