After some disappointing games against key opponents, the Sharks rebound again with strong wins on the road against Los Angeles and Phoenix.  But the Dudes still have to break down the loss against the Red Wings.  After addressing some listener emails, Mike and Doug do a little roleplay with Doug playing Doug Wilson, and Mike playing other GMs around the league entertaining some trade offers.

    Quote from Pavel McGwire:

“I don’t think that the injured players on our team make a difference at all. We were given the gift to win Stanley Cups by the man upstairs. We would have won 11 Stanley Cups without guys like Howe, Yzerman, Sawchuck, and Zetterberg. We have always won Stanley Cups. We just learned how to win more. We learned how to be a better team. There is no player or coach that is going to give us the winning edge we already have. Even the greatest player can not win the Stanley Cup by himself. They still talk about the Stanley Cups we won in the 1950s.

I wish we didn’t have to be a part of this ‘Burger Line’ era.”

Seriously though, another great podcast. Regarding the signings for next season: I really think Marleau will come back. I’ve heard that his wife loves it here and does not want to go back to anywhere that’s cold. Who knows if she’d veto a move like Semenov’s wife did, but the only place I could see him going is (as much as I hate to say this) LA or Anaheim. He seems like the type of guy that would come back for less money though.

    Loved Mike imitating Darryl Sutter.
