The tone in that poor guy sounded like the Sharks had just swept the Avs, then came to his house and kicked his dog. Let’s hope we live up to his concerns! (Not the dog thing, though.)

Lets see some more playoff predictions here’s mine.

Eastern Conference – I just don’t see any room for an upset in the east.

Washington vs. Montreal – Washington in 4.
I think Halak is the only thing that might make this series interesting and that might only steal the Habs a game. If neither goalie can be solid Montreal is still bringing a knife to a gun fight they just do not have the fire power to get past the Capitols.

New Jersey vs. Philadelphia – New Jersey in 6, This series is a tough one. I just don’t think the Flyers have the goal tending for a deep run, but they surprised me by making it and might surprise me again.

Buffalo vs. Boston – Buffalo in 5
Boston is so banged up and Ryan Miller has been outstanding this year I think the Sabers will convincingly win this series.

Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa – Pittsburgh in 5
The pens are better then the Sens in every position from top to bottom they are a deeper and better team.

The West – I think this is where we will see upsets.

San Jose vs. Colorado – Sharks in 5
No Excuses, No Surrender, Go Sharks Go!

Chicago vs. Nashville – Chicago in 4
The only edge that Nashville may hold is goal tending and that won’t be enough because I just don’t think the Preds can contain the Black Hawks offense. The Preds will get killed on special teams.

Vancouver vs. Los Angeles – Los Angeles in 7
Lulongo has been streaky since the Olympic break and I don’t think the Canucks have the secondary scoring if the Kings are able to shut down the Sedins. Of all the series I think this is the hardest one for me to pick but I think the Kings can pull the upset.

Phoenix vs. Detroit – Detroit in 6
I don’t know if Detroit is going to roll over the ‘Yotes but they should beat them, It kind of reminds me of the matchups from the early 90’s where when we would beat them one game and the next game they would pound us 6-0, They key to the ‘Yotes making a series of this is sticking to their game and keep it a low scoring affair if the Wings are able to run up the score the ‘Yotes don’t have the fire power to come back. Being able to bounce back if the Wings do shell them and return to their game will be important as well. If the ‘Yotes cannot do this then they will definitely get rolled but I think they are going to surprise some people.

I’m gonna be the one that takes Phoenix in 7 games.

  5. Evilducks says:

I hate that you guys said the obvious, that the Avs will score first.

I hate it even more than I’m 99% sure that you’re right.
