post Planning For the Weekend

Although Doug and I are both still riding the high of last night, we are actively planning for our weekend podcast, in which we will collect on our bet from WingsFan From SharksLand, same one as last year.  I recommend refreshing your memory by listening to last year’s equivalent episode – Episode 99.  This year, we will also take your suggestions for lines, either through Twitter or email.  Get those in if you have any comedy inspiration.

Of course, the weekend episode will also include a Western Conference Finals preview.

No schadenfreude for me thanks… Just glad at least half my dream came true!

Wingsfaninsharksland has nothing to be ashamed about today… His team fought hard and gave the Sharks all they could handle.

    Canucks here we come…

You’re absolutely right, Tom. That was one hell of a ride. I can’t believe this series. It’s one that we will be talking about for the next 20+ years. As I told Mike before the game, it’s too bad they can’t play best of 25… although I don’t know that any of us could handle even one more game. The word “intense” doesn’t even do it justice. Aside from Avs/Wings in 2002, this was the best series I’ve ever watched and to be fair, the only reason that one was “better” for me was because the Wings were on the winning side.

If you’re even a casual sports fan watching that series and it didn’t convert you to becoming a hockey fan, then it’s hopeless for you… and that goes triple for any people from the Bay Area watching. Wow.

Congratulations to all you Sharks fans. Keep the faith. The mission is only half over. Vancouver should be happy that these teams battled this hard for 7 tough games, but if I’m them, I’m nervous because I personally don’t think Vancouver can play in a series like the one we all just witnessed.

Lastly, I gotta know: which one of you Sharks fans beat up Todd Bertuzzi and knocked him out of the game?

  2. Emily says:

I’m Tom’s sweet, petite wife, and I’ll take credit for beating up Bertuzzi. 🙂

  3. Cyoor says:

Guys.. Dont forget to make your picks for the next round 😀

I ended up just listening to most of the old episode.
It’s interesting in that episode how well you guys thought spoke of Hamburger’s performance and then he became the Semenov up until this last series. Also, thought it was funny about Doug making a joke about the Wings trading for Wellwood and now he’s kicking ass for the Sharks. 🙂

  5. Bryce says:

Done to the tune of let’s go sha-arks chant…

“where is Marleau” clap clap clap-clap-clap. “where is mar… Oh… Scoring the series winning goal”

  6. PJ says:

Line suggestion: After being ousted in back-to-back playoff matchups, it truely was a changing of the guard moment for the Detroit Red Wings and the Western Conference. The San Jose Sharks are a better team.
