Well, after game 2 of SCF it looks like the Kings have this cup. I’m just wondering if I’m the only sharks fan that thinks it’s not the worst thing in the world to be in our situation: a spend-to-the-cap, cup-aspiring team that will be the only one in its own state without a cup. I’ve seen the most negative sharks fans say that the top talent on this team is too comfortable. Maybe this kind of embarrassment is just what this team needs to get the ball rolling, to get a little pissed off. Or maybe it just sucks, i dunno.

It just Sucks, nice effort on the silver lining tho

For some reason I can’t get as up in arms about it as most Sharks fans. Perhaps because I’m originally from Southern CA and know lots of decent Kings fans. I’ve had it explained to me that the hatred of LA is a very NorCal point of view.

I’d much rather the Kings win than the Devils, or really most of the teams in the east. I don’t care that we’re the only CA team without a cup. The only thing I hate is that they make it look easy. They have gone up 3-0 in every series and haven’t lost a game on the road yet.

Do you mean that it’s one-way, and down in LA they’re cool with NorCal people/teams?

I’ve lived in LA, have family and tons of friends that live there now, and that is most assuredly not true. I went to a Sharks/Kings game with my wife, my friend and his girlfriend, and the abuse was worse than I’ve seen at any other venue for any other sport. There were (multiple) grown men screaming obscenities in my wife’s face, and whipping my friend’s girlfriend with a towel.

I don’t mind the Kings at all as a team, and in fact like many of their players. But that is the most vile collection of fans in the country.

I for one am happy for the LA Kings! Such good chaps like that Hanze Koppitar, and Drew Doty, and their stellar goalie Jonathan Swift!!

          • Ruben says:

Its BRAD Doty, don’t you watch hockey, Tom! Its okay, you were probably distracted by a certain fan behind the Devils’s bench 🙂

I attend multiple Kings and Ducks games against the Sharks every year, wearing my Sharks sweater and have had nothing like that.

The worst thing that ever happened to me was after the Sharks came back form down 0-4 to win in OT last year in the playoffs and one drunk a-hole was trying to pick a fight with us, but a bunch of other Kings fans told him to shut his trap and it’s only a game.

So no, I don’t know what you speak of.

          • Tom says:

Couldn’t be just defending your home town could you?

I’ve personally never had issue with Kings fans, I’ve heard a lot of this in the last few years. I thinks it’s the bandwagon element.

      • MJ says:

i hope the Kings win as well. i don’t see what the big deal is.

at the end of the day, it still boils down to West vs East. Gonna go for the West all of the tim…..i mean, in most situations.

        • Ruben says:

I can’t imagine rooting for the Ducks in any situation, unless some tem in the East signed Mike Ribiero, Raffi Torres, Patrick Kane, Ryan Kesler, Steve Ott, and brought Ed Belfour out of retirement. Then I would probably stop watching hockey because if a team with those ass clowns made a Stanley Cup, the Stanley Cup is not worth winning…

As far as the Kings go, it is difficult to hate them. Even Drew Doughty, who can act like an idiot, is hilarious in how often he gets caught talking smack to the other bench and make inappropriate hand gestures. Except Dustin Brown… he is climbing the douche ladder quickly. Still, I have no rooting interest in the game and the Kings are doing their best to prevent me from watching a competitive series.
