post DOH 224 – The Bleeding Has Temporarily Stopped

The Sharks managed to win in St. Louis, but Mike and Doug don’t feel this signals any real turnaround.  Offense is still anemic, the bottom 6 a shambles, and the coach may be on the hot seat.  The Dudes try to make sense of it all.

Good podcast guys – very lively discussion.

A couple things though, one I’m not convinced the big guys on the Sharks aren’t moveable. We thought that about Danny Heatley and boom, DW dropped him at first opportunity. Knowing how DW operates I have to think he’s got an out somewhere with most of those guys. I’m not saying I’m advocating for it and I’m not saying its likely, just that I think DW can and would do it IF he thought he needed to.

Also I’m with you Doug about being fearful that the Sharks are going to just drift into mediocrity. My greatest fear is that we get stuck in Calgary or Buffalo territory. A perennial 8-10 seed that never gets high enough picks or has any real chance of winning either. That above all else scares me. So if I was DW and I thought it could get picks and good prospects for the aging players on this roster I’d probably do it. Especially this draft, it’s supposed to be stacked.

I’m not giving up hope even if its faint, I love this team too much. But, I’m also kinda just ready to move on from this era of Sharks hockey.

Mike why must you always butcher my towns name… I thought we got this straight back at like podcast number 4, its pronounced Soo. 🙂

    • Ian says:

Also I enjoyed the Titanic references since the Titanic and the Sharks of late have something in common… they both look great until they hit the ice.

    • evilducks says:

Is “Soo” pronounced like so, or sue?

It’s not fair using a made up word as a pronunciation guide…

      • Ian says:

Sorry I don’t know how to do the pronunciations all dictionary like, so yeah its more like sue. So it would sound like sue saint marie even though it is actually is written as Sault Ste. Marie

  3. Eric says:

So what is the likelihood of Todd coaching Edmonton next year? Seems like the perfect fit for him. Should I wait until he is fired in a week, until I start speculating?
