Welcome to the NHL Knights fans.

  2. Tom says:

Last night we saw Boston carry the play, overwhelmingly so, against CBJ. CBJ was expected to be the rested team and Boston just came off a game 7, just like SJ. Sometime rust is the effect of days off. In the long run, rest is better I think. However, Bobs bailed them out in that 1st period.

I think it’s actually more likely that SJ could be still in high gear and it might take COL a period or two to get going. IF the sharks can jump out to a lead early, that’s ideal.

I like Mike’s point about the calls. To take the game 2 goal off the board + allow the Eakin game 7 goal + take Pavs out vs. calling a minor as a major, give me a break. It’s either even, or in the VGK favor. A team that gives up 4 goals (!!!) on a single major does not deserve to advance.

Pessimist that I am, I have a different take on the Avs. Have you guys forgotten all those ’90’s Avs teams that had so-so rosters, but Sakic and Forsberg and Roy were unstoppable and they alone eliminated SJ time and again? I see a similar situation in this Avs team. I like the Sharks to win it if they’re healthy and Jones is on. But they’re missing Pavs and Simek, maybe Donskoi too, and Meier and Karlsson are not 100%. I think the Avs break our hearts.

SJ has a much better roster if healthy but with all these injuries I agree. Hard to imagine a conference finalist playing Radil in the top 6 or starting Haley. Meier laboring, maybe an arm or hand injury. Bad luck. Like the dudes I would prefer to be wrong.

  4. Michael says:

There have been a lot of stars since game 5. But nothing has had a bigger impact than the return of Vlasic. He and Burns shut down the red hot Stone line, then the MacK line last night. He’s a team-leading +6 in the playoffs and seeing the toughest opposition. Oh yeah he also sprung Hertl for the 2OT winner. Sharks are 5-0 in these playoffs when he plays the full game. Can you imagine how unstoppable this team would be if everyone was healthy – Simek, Pavs, Donskoi all out, Karlsson and Meier obviously not 100%. But players like Vlasic and Burns have handled the extra minutes we’ll so far.

Since the Dudes are so chipper I am here to bring you down! 🙂 In the second and third period of game 2 I thought the Sharks looked fatigued. Maybe the grueling 7 game series with the VGK is taking a toll plus all the team injuries and huge minutes to the top-4 Dmen. Not sure if Burns can keep playing 27+ min per game. I mean in games 6 and 7 last round he averaged 40+ min due to the OT’s! He was on the ice for 3 of the 4 Colorado goals yesterday. I question playing Ryan only a few shifts per game. Play him more or put in Heed. This doesn’t seem sustainable especially if there is OT in the series. Now the Sharks go to the high altitude where fatigue is always a factor. Going up a against a speedy, young, rested Avs team playing in their element. Yikes. And to the discussion about the lower seeds winning, I fully expect to see Dallas / Colorado and Columbus / Carolina. ¯\_(?)_/¯ Go Sharks!!!

Gallant: “You know we move on. We’re not going to make excuses.” LMFAO

  7. James says:

Jones’ last 2 road games have been incredible. He won us game 6 last round and game 3 yesterday. Grubauer would like to have the 3rd goal back when Couture went near post. That was the difference in the game – Jones didn’t let in anything he had a chance to stop.

yep its official avs in 7.

Mike we did notice the site was down. We are here to give you grief for not recording because we like the podcast so much.

I felt before the series started if it went 5 Sharks win, if 7 Avs win. Still feels that way now. Sharks just look tired. In round 1 they had almost 3 full OT periods, so essentially SJ had an 8 game series vs the Avs’ 5. And the Flames-Avs series was pretty light on physical play. Hertl, Couture, and Meier have been inconsistently been on the scoresheet. And other bug guns so far are non-factors such as Kane (2 points in the series), Thornton (in the last 5 games zero points, -6 rating), and of course Pavs is out. Kane especially is a huge disappointment. Maybe still recovering form the family tragedy, which is completely understandable. Is tomorrow night the final game of Jumbo’s career and/or end of the Pavs era? Or does Pavs return to slot in on the 3rd line with Jumbo, leading to a big game from Thornton, helping propel the Sharks into the next round? Ah! Whatever happens, go Sharks!!!!

the simek injury caught up with us last night. the karlsson-dillon pairing is finally being exploited by the avs. if the sharks could roll out burns-simek, karlsson-vlasic as they did for a stretch this season, i think sj wins it all.

just imagine what it’s like for blackhawks fans watching former prospects teravainen and panarin tear it up this post season. no bueno. we need to give credit to dw for letting marleau walk. now the leafs want rid of his contract, which made room for players like kane to sign with the sharks.

Dudes… have been in radio silence for a couple of days until catching up tonight after watching with my 24 hour blackout delay… but no immediate Game 7 review podcast with some deliriously happy Dudes???

Oddly, I think that because the Vegas series was so big, I didn’t get into this series as much & didn’t really take the Avs as a serious threat until Game 7 & was then left wondering how the hell we held on in that 3rd period. 15 shots to 2 or something.

Agree with the comments above that the Sharks looked really leggy and tired after 13 games… Let alone 13 games & 2 periods… but the Blues have played 13 (& the Bruins 13) & we were facing a desperate Avs team & got the job done, so quietly confident we can overcome this & kick on another gear…

    Go Sharks!!!

(P.S. As much as I dislike Spurs, I have to say congratulations on the UCL semi-final!)
