The Sharks manage to beat a good team in the Hurricanes, but had a chance to beat Buffalo at home and couldn’t do it.

Love the momentum. So great to hear from you guys weekly. Makes Monday something to look forward to! If only the team were better. I don’t see this turning around anytime soon.

Iā€™m sad my predictions were so right! Labanc and Jones both off to bad starts. Yes the whole team looks bad but EK was better in buffalo tonight. The Sharks are 3-4 quality NHL players away from having a playoff team, My solution to the goalie issue would be the Pens model. Sign a 1A and let them tandem for a couple of years. Less work plus competition would help Jones. Then deal Jones to Seattle.

I think it’s pretty simple – this roster is just not that good. The youngsters didn’t make the roster so we’ve got the leftovers from last year’s press box plus a new rookie every other week. The core is doing poor. A hockey trade is possible, but it would have to somehow net the Sharks, like 3 roster players. No bueno.

I am a very longtime listener (2010?) and didn’t even know about the web page – always downloaded from other sources. Anyhow, I love the podcast, dudes. You are hilarious and have tremendous hockey knowledge and also great voices. I only wish the podcast was daily! But … I have to disagree with a major theme on the show. I really do think it’s the goaltending. I mean, come on, Mike, you are a stats guy. I just watched the Habs game. The Sharks did not play any better than they have in recent weeks. But Dell was sensational. And they won 4-2. This team is not good enough to win with .900 save percentages. Signing off!

So this is a ridiculous comment. Sure, a goalie steal as the dudes would call it is the great equalizer. But on most nights, “it’s the depth, stupid.” I mean, Heed had 3 freakin shifts!!!! Wilson needs to flesh out his roster.

  5. Nazir says:

At this time Wilson’s strategy of paying Karlsson over fixing the goalie problems and adding depth players is not looking smart. When you guys discussed trading Vlasic I thought no way but right now who knows. Don’t blame the coach.
