Great episode, as always. Mike was really on. Great predictions and wise words of advice about giving everyone a little extra leeway these days. Thank you dudes! And Go Pavs!

  2. Teddy says:

Which former Shark will win the cup – Goodrow, Greiss, Pavs, or PDB?

  3. Trex says:

For me, it’s painful watching Pavs tear it up. Game winning OT primary assist the other night. What an awful move by the Sharks. Go Pavs!

DW is on a cold streak. Could have helped himself by hiring a coach this summer. This Sharks team will not make the playoffs next year.

    • James says:

I think everyone underestimated just how great of a player and leader Pavs is. His departure is the only major change on the Sharks (I don’t think Donskoi, Dillon, or Braun are true difference-makers) and the biggest shift on the Stars’ roster. I particularly disagree with the dudes re the importance of captains, at least for the Sharks. I think it matters. With Pavs as captain, the Sharks made the conference finals 2 of 3 years. Then he left and they fell apart and missed the playoffs. The Stars have had zero recent playoff success. They add Pavs, he is on fire in the playoffs, and the Stars are on the verge of a cup final appearance no one predicted. People have been undervaluing Pavs his entire career. And he’s been consistently proving them wrong.

I am bewildered by what SJ is doing in the coaching department. Firstly, Boughner didn’t exactly shine last year. Second, I don’t get why they didn’t go all in for Laviolette. (And now he’s with the Caps, which as Mike said was the best gig out there.) And thirdly, there is no explanation for why they haven’t just announced Boughner as the coach. No, waiting on an assistant with a playoff team doesn’t explain it , but Doug is generous to propose it! Go Sharks!!!
