Are the Sharks the worst team in the league?
No, but most disappointing, yes. They’re the worst team among those that have decent rosters. Just the wrong mix, wrong coach, and a lack of leadership, especially from EK65.
I am optimistic about next year. I suspect they will buy out Jones, unload one of their D – Burns or Vlasic – in a trade to Seattle, and start to look for the future.
IMHO DW has to go. No question, he has been the greatest Sharks GM. Period. But he is not good at what the Sharks need to do now. He’s great at trades, not drafting a young core. The Sharks need to suck it up, lose, get some high ranking picks, and somehow unload these monstrous contracts.
Really confused there was no team response to the hit Simek took. Hard to believe Bob Bougnner is the coach of this incredibly soft team. I was in favor of his getting the job, hoping we’d at least see a hard working, feisty team with tight defensive capabilities. So much for that.
I’m with the others here. Several contracts are terrible. This team will be bad for a while. Karlsson is nowhere near the player he was 5 years ago. Not even an all star at this point. Hate to say it, but it’s time for Doug Wilson to go. He is not going to break up his own roster. He’s too stubborn. Agree he’s still been the best GM is club history, easily.
