The Sharks have one of the worst winning percentages in the league, but perhaps the best defenseman. The Dudes evaluate the partial season.

Went to see the Sharks lose to Calgary on Sunday. First game since 2019. Ugh… these guys are not fun to watch these days. I live in Sacramento, so going to a game is a big deal for me. If I lived in SJ, I’d probably be more likely to go to Barracuda games instead of Sharks games.

I can’t be one of those fans that hope to see them lose for a top pick, but it sure takes the sting out of losses knowing that it puts them one step closer to that top pick.

EK65 sure looks like he’s playing to motivate a trade. Would be good for everyone.

SJ should deal Meier and Reimer now – would get quite a return. EK65 too if he’s willing – his trade value will never be higher in his remaining career. Then in 2-3 years, you’d have all those prospects / picks plus Eklund and Bordeleau and a top 5 pick from this year. The longer the Sharks cling to their core, the slower their rebuild will be. Oh and please keep playing Kahkonen to secure a higher pick this year. Dude has 4 wins in 16 starts ?.

    Is this podcast still running?

Sure seems like some major changes are coming to the roster. Long overdue. Grier is quite lucky – Karlsson could actually be traded and Timo is having a career year. Sharks should get blue chip prospects plus picks for both. And they’ll pick very high this year, maybe even first? But now Grier has to switch and do a rebuild, finding a new core, which is a very different job than the “retooling” he seems to have been hired for. Can he do it? I hope so. This rebuild could work out well for the Sharks, though it will take a few more years of losing seasons while the new core develops and the bad contracts and buyouts that DW left us with fade away.
