Mike and Doug take over the airwaves of KDOW 1220AM and spend two hours talking hockey. In the first hour they cover the Calgary game, the Ottawa game with the return of Milan Michalek and Jonathan Cheechoo, and start to explore the kinds of changes or moves the Sharks might contemplate. In the second hour the Dudes talk to Mark Purdy, columnist for the San Jose Mercury News, and Mark Smith, former Shark. After that, the listeners weigh in with their takes.

There’s obviously a ton to talk about tonight after the Sharks dropped a disappointing loss at home to the Calgary Flames last night. Should we concerned that the Sharks are 0-2-1 against the other two division leaders in the Western Conference? What does San Jose need to do to get in the best position to win the Cup in the second half of the season? The Sharks have started a new winning streak against a host of ex-Sharks sprinkled among the Canadian teams, and the Dudes break it all down. Mike and Doug also talk about the demotion of Jason Demers, and the curious claiming of Jay Leach off of waivers from Montreal. Finally, there’s a comparison of the top-4 defensemen of the Sharks versus other top Western teams, and the speculation that a trade could be an answer to this deficiency. This Thanksgiving episode discusses the crushing loss to Chicago, and the quality wins versus Philly and Anaheim. The Dudes also address the outstanding questions about Sharks in the Olympics, like whether the Thornton-Heatley-Marleau line will be on Team Canada intact. Mike and Doug wrap up the games that happened in the past week- a little up and down for the Sharks, although they remain on top of the NHL in points. The Dudes spend some time on the Chicago Blackhawks, who have several injuries, and talk about the rumors surrounding their big three free agents- Toews, Kane, and Keith. Then they bring up the fact that the Sharks have done a lot of shipping players to the minors, much more than any other Pacific division team. Finally, Mike and Doug pick their biggest surprises and disappointments now that the season is a quarter over.

The Sharks are on another run, 8-0-2 in their last ten games. The Dudes break down the late-game winner by Dan Boyle versus Nashville, the 1-point escape against Detroit, and the hurt the Sharks put on the defending Cup Champions. With more players coming back from injury, Mike and Doug try and figure out how the lines will sort themselves out, and if the Sharks might even make a move for a defenseman.

The Sharks continue their roll with a shootout win over Columbus, and the Dudes continue their roll on the podcast. Even though several Sharks are hurt, the wins keep coming. Mike and Doug wonder what will happen to the lineup when everyone gets healthy, take some listener emails, and try and predict which Sharks might make it to the Olympics.
