post DOH 229 – Trade-Tastic

The Sharks have made several trades since the last podcast, trading Ryane Clowe away, and getting Scott Hannan and Raffi Torres in three different deals.  The Dudes break it all down on this very eventful trade deadline day.

Douglas Murray is the first casualty of the “rebuild” or “refresh” or whatever Doug Wilson wants to call it.  Yet the Sharks win a tough game in Anaheim; is this enough to get the boys rolling again, or will they revert to their subaverage ways?

The Sharks are still reeling, and now there are rumors that Dan Boyle (among others) are on the trading block.  The losses keep coming, the goals do not, and the Dudes are no happier than they were last week.

The poor play continues, and Mike and Doug are just about fed up with it all.  Very few positives to see, and clearly the fanbase is getting restless.  Is it time for a complete rebuild?

The Sharks (and perhaps Todd McLellan) are on the razor’s edge between complete failure and not.  They barely beat the hapless Avs, but there are some signs of life.

The Sharks managed to win in St. Louis, but Mike and Doug don’t feel this signals any real turnaround.  Offense is still anemic, the bottom 6 a shambles, and the coach may be on the hot seat.  The Dudes try to make sense of it all.

The Sharks have now lost six straight, and nothing is going right.  After three losses against teams under 0.500, the Sharks will play the next four against teams playing well.  It’s not looking good.  At least Doug and Mike have lots of listener emails to read.

After the best start in franchise history, the Sharks have lost three in a row.  The Dudes go over the disappointing mess of the Chicago game, the sudden lack of power play and Patrick Marleau, the jam at bottom-pairing defense, and the worst trade in Sharks history.

The Sharks are off to the best start in franchise history, but not without some close escapes against the Ducks and Coyotes.  Mike and Doug talk about all the games, the Landeskog hit by Stuart, the Sharks ownership change, and Gomez’s start as a Shark.

In other news, here’s a computer wallpaper for the rest of the season.  Thanks Doug’s daughter (with help from Bryce)!

post DOH 220 – Two and Oh Gomez

The Sharks are off to a blistering start, scoring 10 goals in two games, and easily beating Calgary and Edmonton.  And, as crazy as it might have sounded a week ago, Scott Gomez is now a Shark, but at a very reasonable price.
